Educators and service providers are too often prevented from obtaining Girls Circle® and The Council for Boys and Young Men® trainings due to budget constraints. We receive 15+ scholarship applications per month, a value of nearly $29,000 per year. Since 2010, we have provided over $160,000 of scholarship assistance to 915 adults working with an estimated 7,500 youth.
In 2014, in the Bay Area alone, we trained 253 adults. 20 individuals received assistance while another 40 applicant requests could not be met. Since our inception, we have been a self-sustaining nonprofit, generating revenue via training fees and sales of our curriculum, but while we give generously in regards to scholarships, we simply cannot meet the need of our entire community.
